Soft Tissue Surgery
Soft tissue surgery addresses lumps and masses beneath the skin — including lipomas, cysts and soft tissue tumours — with a focus on accurate diagnosis and complete, cosmetically considered excision.

When this procedure is used
- Subcutaneous lipomas and cysts
- Enlarging or symptomatic soft tissue lumps
- Suspected soft tissue sarcoma requiring biopsy or excision
- Recurrent or previously incompletely removed lumps
What to expect
Assessment
Examination with ultrasound or MRI where indicated, and biopsy planning for any lesion with suspicious features.
The procedure
Performed under local, regional or general anaesthetic depending on size and depth. Day-case in most cases.
Recovery
Wound review, histology discussion and onward referral to oncology services where required.
