Breast Surgery
Breast surgery covers the assessment and treatment of benign and malignant breast conditions, from diagnostic excision of a lump to oncological breast cancer surgery with multidisciplinary planning.

When this procedure is used
- New or persistent breast lumps and cysts
- Suspicious lesions requiring biopsy or excision
- Fibroadenomas and benign breast disease
- Breast cancer surgery and follow-up care
What to expect
Assessment
Clinical examination with imaging (mammogram, ultrasound) and biopsy as needed before any operative plan is finalised.
The procedure
Procedure type depends on diagnosis — ranging from minor day-case excision under local or general anaesthetic to formal oncological surgery.
Recovery & follow-up
Wound review, histology discussion and onward referral to oncology or reconstructive services where appropriate.
